What does it mean to romanticize your life?
This is the practice of falling in love with yourself, appreciating the things that happen around you at any given second and being grateful for the opportunity that life has given you. Basically finding beauty in everything around you.
Romanticizing your life does not need a lot of money or even a lot of effort. Just by implementing simple luxurious habits in your daily life, you will find yourself getting there. Eventually, you start appreciating what you are doing and where you are.
I was desperate to find out what the girlies are doing to elevate and romanticize their life on a daily basis. So, I posted a TikTok and received thousands of comments with girls sharing their hacks and tricks that made their daily life easier and worth it.
Here is a list of the main and common suggestions that they shared.
Girl to Girl advise on how to romanticize your life

- Follow your plan, not your mood. I had to start with this because romanticizing your life needs a plan, not a mood for it to work.
- Begin your day mindfully, make bed every morning and clean your room.
- Try all types of teas, could be hibiscus, cloves, mint, anything else rather than having 3 cups of coffee a day.
- Prioritize fitness it might feel like a chore at first, but eventually feels like a mood elevator and mental health stabilizer.

- Start saying “Stop” to your thoughts whenever you catch yourself thinking mean or rude things about yourself.
- Stop sharing personal details with your coworkers.
- Think of the best case scenario not the worst case scenario.
- Find the Lord and start a spiritual journey.
- Practice at home floor Pilates.
- Dry brush before showering, scrub and exfoliate twice a week, invest in skin care, and find the right oils for your skin.
- Decentering men and putting yourself first
- Find time to sit in silence for 20 minutes everyday. No phone, no music, no TV, no device, self reflect or think about nothing
- Learn baking and give treats to friends just because. Make it a hobby.
- Being intentional with what you purchase and why you need it. Don’t let Girl math fool you.
- Have zero spend days once in a while.
- Own a daily planner to track your to do list chores and long term goals.
- Dance in front of a mirror.
- Stop caring so much about other people’s opinion, trust your journey.
- Make your inner child happy once a week either by colouring, listening to your favourite playlist, watching cartoons or movies, reading or just anything that you enjoy doing.
- Talk less, listen more and do not stop learning.
- Watching your health and eating habits hence the future glowing and better skin with no acne.
- Call your family or closest friend weekly to ask how they are doing.
- Buy yourself flowers whenever you can.
